Stefan and Patricia are the 2nd generation to run the family hotel Unterreith.
The "Unterreith" was built in 1990 by Anna and Franz Scherübl. They decided to become innkeepers out of nothing and put their heart and soul into it. With a lot of hard work and dedication, the Unterreith became what we know it as today.
Senior chef of the house, baking fairy, perfect grandma
Grew up on her parents' farm "Oberreith". After commercial school, she worked for many years at the Steffner company in Altenmarkt. In 1990, she fulfilled her dream of opening her own restaurant and hotel. Without any gastronomic experience or knowledge, Franz and Anni built the Unterreith with the support of their parents.
Hospitality and satisfied guests make Anni happy. When Anni isn't at the mixer conjuring up a delicious cake or pie for you, she's looking after her 5 grandchildren with the necessary rigor.
Senior chef of the house, janitor, animal keeper, gardener, children's entertainer, loving grandpa
Grew up in his parents' carpentry workshop in Radstadt. Apprenticeship at the Atomic company in Altenmarkt. In 1989 Franz opened the sports store "Sport Circle" in Obertauern and shortly afterwards Anni and Franz built the "Unterreith".
Grandpa Franz can usually be seen in summer wearing a hat with the animals or on the tractor. Often at his side: little Franz Junior. He's out the whole day and everyone thinks he's enjoying the day, but that's not the case. He takes care of the tidiness and cleanliness around the Unterreith, as well as his animals and, most of all, his grandson Franz.
He is the one who "invented" the Unterreith children's program. It consists of things that he himself loved to do as a child. Building dams, barbecuing around the campfire, baking bread and much more.
Junior chef, cook, quality control, regionality checker, sommelier
After traveling the world in gastronomy, she met her husband Stefan during her sommelier training in Burgenland. The two of them then decided to take over her parents' business.
She is a passionate cook who pays great attention to quality and regionality in her cuisine.
The biggest point of conflict between the bosses is food shopping - Stefan is the finance minister and Patricia is the one who likes to buy half cows from farmers of the best quality, but perhaps not always at the best price.
The two complement each other perfectly in terms of guest well-being and operational well-being.
Junior chef, winemaker, waiter, craftsman, finance minister, children's entertainer, passionate dad, club man, passionate musician
The trained winemaker from Burgenland grew up on his parents' winery in Jois in Burgenland. After graduating from the HBLA Klosterneuburg for viticulture, he met his wife Patricia during his internship. Their shared interest in wine was an integral part of their relationship from the very beginning.
He is the master of numbers and likes to put the brakes on his wife when she spends money unnecessarily.
Stefan is also the one who always has a toolbox somewhere in case there is a need for a handyman.
At first, he wasn't sure whether it would work for him to live in a village like Forstau as a "Zuagroaster" (newcomer). In the meantime, he has become an integral part of village life in Forstau. He is a member of the Forstau volunteer fire department, a passionate trumpet and flugelhorn player in the Forstau band and "Tanzlmusi", Santa Claus of the "Totensteinteufel" group and tourism chairman.
He is the cozy host who finds a topic of conversation with everyone and is happy to pay for a schnapps. Stefan is the fun maker with his own children Valentina and Franz and shows every vacationing child the beauty and fun of our beautiful region.
Animal welfare officer, breakfast lady, apple strudel officer
Valentina has been an integral part of the business from an early age. Even as a baby, she enjoyed airing the kitchen to fall asleep and was soon helping her mother in the kitchen.
In the morning, Valentina likes to be the one who serves you the boiled egg at the breakfast table and checks that everything is in order before she leaves for kindergarten.
For Valentina, it is absolutely taboo if her mom bakes an apple strudel while she is at kindergarten, as all - and really all - apple strudels are "made" by her and are of course tasted under strict quality control.
She is also the one who cares deeply about people and animal welfare. If anyone is harmed, she is the first to be there. So be careful - be kind to the goats, rabbits, chickens,... Valentina sees it!
Powerman, Grandpa Franz's little servant
He is our Powerman. When Franz is out, he goes full throttle. He's the one who "whizzes" through the restaurant with a loud "Hello" or "Servas". He's usually on his way to grandpa's or dad's tractor.
He is Grandpa Franz's little servant.
